Wel y'all....The drama continues with the family of the late great Nipsey Hussle! A few weeks ago, Nipsey's sister Samantha Smith filed for legal guardianship of Nipsey's 10yr old daughter Emani Asghedom. Prior to Nipsey's death, he and Emani's mother, Tanisha Foster were granted 50/50 custody back in 2013. According to Samantha, Nipsey was Emani's main caregiver with the help of her for most of the child's life. Samantha allegedly filed for guardianship behind Tanisha's back and petitioned the court that Tanisha not be told this was happening prior to it being done!!!!! Sources say Samantha does not believe Tanisha is able to care for Emani. In court documents, Samantha stated that she has assisted in Emani's care throughout her entire life and wants "to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship" with Nipsey's family.
The court granted that Samantha retain custody of Emani for the time being and there is another court date scheduled for July. Worth noting is the fact that Samantha has a young son of her own named Khalil. There have been some allegations against Tanisha....allegedly she has two other older children, A'asia and Ryan that she also lost custody of. The reason behind this is unknown at this time. Tanisha also allegedly has an extensive criminal background. There is currently a warrant out for her arrest for failure to appear on charges of a DUI from back in 2017 to which she pled no contest and was sentenced to three years probation. After not showing up for her court date on May 15th, her probation was revoked and a bench warrant was issued. Tanisha was also allegedly arrested in 2007 for vandalism, annoying phone calls & disturbing the peace. Those charges were dismissed after she completed her probation. Foster was arrested in 2006 for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. TMZ has reported that when Tanisha lost custody of Emani she broke down crying and was very upset. As she left the courthouse, she told TMZ that she was "pissed off". They also reported that when Emani entered the courtroom, the judge cleared the room for 20 minutes so Emani and Tanisha could spend time together as Tanisha stated she had not seen her daughter in several months. Nipsey's brother Blac Sam and father Dawit Asgehdom also testified on Samantha's behalf and agreed that Tanisha was unfit to raise Emani.
Now the drama doesn't end there y'all. Blac Sam has petitioned the courts to be appointed as administrator of Nipsey's estate. Allegedly Nipsey died without a will and Sam says he left a fortune of around 2 million dollars (some sources are reporting that it was 8 million). Sam also alleges there are some time sensitive business opportunities for the estate and he wants the power to execute them. Now allegedly, Tanisha is set to object to Blac Sam being the administrator and sources say that she may ask that she be appointed administrator!!!!! The judge is set to decide on Sam's petition on June 10th. Y'all...dis tew much!!!!
In my personal opinion, a judge will always side with the birth parent on custody issues unless there is a very good reason they can't. That leads me to believe that Tanisha has more than meets the eye going on with her! There must be something really damaging because I don't feel like what we know about her is enough to get custody snatched. Let's also not forget that Tanisha stated herself that she hasn't seen Emani in months! That would indicate that even prior to Nipsey's untimely death Tanisha was not caring for the child. Also, Emani is old enough to know who she wants to live with. I believe if Emani wanted to live with her mother, Nipsey's family wouldn't be going this hard to retain custody. Now as far as Tanisha trying to become administrator of Nipsey's estate, that's laughable! What would make her ass think that she even has a chance? Her and Nipsey were not married or even in a relationship at the time of his death and from what we know, Tanisha doesn't exactly seem responsible, nor is she the only woman with a child fathered by Nipsey that needs to be taken care of (Nipsey has a son named Kross with his longtime girlfriend, Lauren London). I think Blac Sam should be the administrator he was Nipsey's business partner and I feel he will act with the best interest of everybody involved. Hopefully, this gets settled quietly and Emani can have time outside of the drama to actually grieve her father's death. Anyway, let me know how y'all feel about this foolishness!
