Okay y'all this might take some time but I'm about to break this whole R. Kelly mess down for y'all. There have been rumors for years that R&B singer R. Kelly allegedly has a "thing" for under age girls. Back in 1994 Kelly allegedly married his then 15yr old mentee R&B singer Aaliyah. They were married for about 6mths and the marriage was eventually annulled and any record of it expunged. At the time of the marriage Kelly was 27yrs old. Now fast forward to 2002! Kelly was indicted on 21 counts of child pornography in Chicago, IL and another 10 counts in Florida. Eventually the additional ten counts were dropped. Kelly plead not guilty to the charges and was released on bail. After 6 yrs (and an alleged 27 minute video tape of Kelly engaging in oral, anal and vaginal sex and also urinating on a then 12yrold girl) Kelly's trail finally took place but he was acquitted of all charges. Okay, now for the recent stuff! In July of 2017, Buzzfeed News published an article stating that three sets of parents were accusing Kelly of holding their daughters in an alleged sex cult. Kelly and the victims denied the allegations. Kelly was again accused of misconduct in April 2018 by a woman named Faith Rodgers. She alleged that Kelly intentionally infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.
In May 2018, a campaign was started called #muterkelly boycotting Kelly and his music and several streaming services stated that they would no longer feature or promote Kelly's music. Finally in July 2018 Kelly released a 19 minute song called I Admit in which he denies all allegations and states "only God can mute me". In 2019 Lifetime aired a six part series called Surviving R. Kelly detailing the misconduct and sexual abuse allegations against R. Kelly. The series starts with the first ever allegation and takes you all the way to 2019. I watched it like five or six times. It is truly a must watch. It includes stories from former employees, celebrities, victims, and parents of victims. It even details alleged abusive from Kelly toward his ex-wife Andrea Kelly. Andrea alleges abuse at the hands of Kelly. She says he physically and mentally abused her and even once hog tied her and fell asleep! She says her breaking point was when she contemplated suicide by almost jumping from a Miami balcony. Andrea stated the only thing that stopped her was the thought of leaving her children (she has 3 with R. Kelly). Andrea has denied knowing anything about the abuse of any women other than herself when she was married to R. Kelly. She stated she never met or saw any other women but she believes their stories because they are eerily similar to hers.
Lisa alleges abuse by Kelly also. She stated that she met Kelly at one of his video shoots when she was 17, they engaged in sexual relations that day and she eventually started living with Kelly. Van Allen testified in the 2008 trial of Kelly and appeared in the video along side Kelly and the then 14yr old girl. Van Allen states Kelly told her the girl from the video was 18 and that he forced her to have a threesome with him and the girl. Lisa testified in exchange for immunity.
Lizette met R. Kelly at the mall in Miami when she was 17yrs old. She was a huge fan and expressed her hope that he would help her launch her career. Kelly had his friend give her his phone number and invited her and a friend to dinner. After dinner she accompanied him to a studio alone where she sang for him. Kelly allegedly then kissed her and they later became sexually involved. Lizette alleges that after a few months, Kelly began abusing her and that she felt like a prostitute because she was meeting him in hotels for sex with him and other women. At age19, Lizette became pregnant by Kelly who was not supportive and eventually she had a miscarriage ALONE! She said that Kelly didn't even say sorry. At some point she contracted Mono and it turned into Guillain-Barre Syndrome (an autoimmune disorder which can cause paralysis). Lizette alleges Kelly sent her mother a check for $1000.00 to take her to the hospital. She says she spent three weeks in the intensive care unit and Kelly never contacted her or her family. After she was released she ended the relationship.
Jones allegedly dated Kelly for two years. She also alleges mental and physical abuse. Kitti has accused Kelley of starving her as a means of punishment. She stated that the longest he starved her was allegedly 2 1/2 days. Kitti states she got out of the relationship by convincing Kelly that she needed to go to Dallas to buy school clothes for her son who had been attending school in Europe. She was allowed to go, but was allegedly told by Kelly to constantly update him on her every move by phone and text. She also alleges that he only allowed her to pack sweats and t-shirts and that she was instructed to leave her other possessions in Chicago. Kitti says upon leaving she never returned to Atlanta, although Kelly did set up a meeting with her in Dallas to bring her other possessions. At that time she says Kelly attacked her and told her "I ain't giving you shit" and that was the last time she saw the singer! I don't know about y'all but sounds to me like the old boy is way out of control...but of course there is more!
McGee met Kelly in 2014 at a show in Louisiana. She stated at first he would fly her to different cities for sex and then eventually in 2016 he moved her in to his Atlanta home. At that point McGee says Kelly started controlling her. She had to ask to eat, bathe, or even use the restroom. She alleges he had a black room where everything was black and he would make her and the other ladies in the house perform any and every sexual act whether they consented or not. She says she was only living in the house for two to three weeks before she escaped with the help of her friend who pretended to be a Uber driver. Some people have questioned this particular victims validity because her own daughter was allegedly caught on a recording telling an ex boyfriend of McGee that the whole story was fabricated. I don't know the truth but I feel like there is at least some truth to her story due to the fact that on the Surviving R. Kelly series McGee broke down when she was brought back to the house where she say her abuse took place. Moving right along....
Jerhonda met Kelly at the age of 14. Pace said she would skip school everyday (unbeknownst to her mother) and attend his trail in Chicago. She states that at the end of the trial Kelly thanked her for her support and one of his employees took her name and phone number and then later friends requested her on Myspace. Jerhonda states she lost her virginity to Kelly at age 16. She would lie to her mom about hanging out with friends and sleeping at friends houses all the while she would be with Kelly and he would coach her on what to say to her mom! Jerhonda goes as far as to say Kelly once made her go out and find him another young girl to have sex with. She says she immediately thought about her friend Dominique Gardner, who she met and befriended based off of both girls being super fans of Kelly. Now I don't know about y'all but if somebody was abusing me there ain't no way in hell I would bring my friend into the same situation that I wanted to get out of (with friends like her who needs enemies?). Jerhonda says inside Kelly's Chicago home, she was mentally and physically abused. She alleges she was made to call Kelly Daddy and was kept separated from the other women in the house including Dominique. Pace states she left the situation after Kelly choked her until she passed out and spit in her face. Jerhonda and her family later sued Kelly but he settled out of court with them for 1.5 million dollars and she was made to sign a non disclosure (which forbade her from speaking about Kelly or the relationship) but she broke it to write her book and participate in the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries.
Dominique was with Kelly off and on for 9yrs! Gardner was brought to Kelly's Chicago home by a friend and fellow victim Jerhonda Pace. An anonymous ex-member of R. Kelly's team described Dominique as the problem child! Dominique has not directly come forward with any allegations due to the fact that she is the most recent victim to escape and she is still very fragile and not ready to speak about it yet. However, we have heard some of her story via her mom Michelle Kramer (shout out to Mama Michelle). If you watched the series Michelle actually rescued her daughter from a hotel that Kelly had her at in Beverly Hills California after seeing her on TMZ! Prior to that she had not seen or spoken to her daughter in 3yrs! After being home for 3 days Dominique returned to Kelly but escaped a short time later and has been home every since. Michelle alleges abuse of Dominique, but I wont get into that right now. I will just say that its been reported that Dominique was treated the worst and was even made to dress and act like a boy. Okay there are allegedly two women who are being brainwashed and held captive in R. Kelly's alleged sex cult! The parents of these women are making these accusations but the victims themselves are denying that they are being detained. I'm gonna Start with Joycelyn Savage.
Okay, now just like Dominique we are not able to get Joycelyn's story so we have to rely on her parents for information. According to Joycelyn's parents Timothy and JonJelyn Savage Joycelyn was an aspiring singer who met R. Kelly in Atlanta in 2015. She was 17yrs old at the time. After that Kelly started mentoring Joycelyn under the supervision of her mother. According to her parents in 2016 Joycelyn went to college and at some point they became unable to reach her. Joycelyn later got in touch with them to let them know that she was no longer living on campus and that she was with Kelly. Timothy says he tried to convince his daughter to go back to school to continue her studies but she refused. JonJelyn and Tim claim that they have had no contact with their daughter for over two years despite numerous attempts to reach her. In 2017 Joycelyn was featured in a video by TMZ in which she stated that she was happy and not being held against her will and expressed her wishes that her parents leave her alone and stop trying to contact her. The savage's allege that they have been threatened numerous times by Kelly and his camp and have filed harassment charges. I hope Joycelyn is okay and that she will at least contact her family and keep the line of communication open between them at the very least. Check out this picture of The Savage's below.
Although there are countless victims in this R. Kelly saga I'd be writing forever if I tried to profile all of them. Maybe I will do some more in another story later...maybe not lol. Right now I'm going to talk about the other alleged victim that is still being held by R. Kelly.
According to the parents of Azriel, Angelo and Alice Clary, she met R. Kelly when she was 17 yrs old at one of his concerts in Florida which she attended with her parents. At the concert Kelly pulled Azriel up on stage with him to dance. After they danced she was told to exit the stage through the back stage area. Alice Clary recalls it taking a long time for her daughter to come from back stage and even alleges that she went to try to get her daughter and was stopped by security who told her that her daughter would be out in a minute. When Azriel returned she stated that she was backstage singing for Kelly who gave her his contact information and wanted to help with her career. A few days later the Clary's received a call from Azriel's school stating that she wasn't in school that day. They immediately tried contacting Azriel on her cell phone but got no answer. They headed home to see if she was there and eventually Azriel called to let them know that she was at a meeting with R. Kelly at a hotel. The Clary's went to the hotel but security denied Kelly was staying there despite his tour bus and Azriel's car being parked in the lot. They then proceeded to start knocking on doors inside the hotel but were removed by security. They threatened to call the police stating that their daughter was there with Kelly and that she was under age. Eventually they got Azriel and left. They later were contacted by Kelly who stated he was leaving town that day and that Azriel had assured him it was okay for her to take a meeting with him without her parents. After some weeks of begging and threating from Azriel, The Clary's agreed to let Azriel work with Kelly under the very close supervision of them or her older sister A'lceis. Eventually Azriel moved to Chicago with Kelly to work on her album. A'lceis went with Azriel. A'lceis says once they got there Kelly instructed them that they had to inform him of their every move and let him know anytime they wanted to leave the hotel. She immediately saw that this was not normal but did not tell her parents because Azriel begged her not to. She stated that one day she left without permission to get food against Azriel's urging her that she would get in trouble. She stated that her sister looked terrified of disobeying the rules. A'lceis said when she woke up the next morning, Azriel was missing so she walked to R. Kelly's studio to find her sister but was told to leave. When she refused she was physically removed by security and cursed out and threatened by Kelly. Azriel stood watching but refused to leave with her. She says she was thrown in the back of a van and taken to a rough part of Chicago by Kellys goons and thrown out after being threatened that if she told anyone what had happened, harm would come to her and her family. She called her parents but did not tell them the whole story just that they needed to come to Chicago. They came and Kelly and Azriel assured them that it was just a misunderstanding and nobody told them what really happened, so they let Azriel keep working with Kelly. In 2016 Azriel returned home for her high school graduation. By this time she had already had her 18th birthday so she left and went back to Kelly and allegedly cut off all communication with her parents and sister. Angelo and Alice later found out that Kelly had been having sexual relations with their then 17yr old daughter since the first meeting at the hotel. In the docuseries you see them at Kelly's studio outside, trying to conduct a welfare check with police to see if their daughter was there and if she was okay, but nobody answered the door. I hope Azriel is okay and that she reaches out to her family soon. Here are some pictures of Azriel's family below.
On February 22nd, 2019 R. Kelly was indicted on ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. Additionally, 3 new VHS tapes were turned over to the police that allegedly show Kelly having sex with under aged girls. In the videos Kelly allegedly refers to one girls genitals as "14yr old p****". Later that night he turned himself in and after spending the weekend in jail he posted $100,000.00 bond. In court he plead not guilty to all charges. As a condition of his release he is not allowed to be in contact with anybody under the age of 18 and he also had to surrender his passport. Kelly also has a little over a week to pay his ex wife Andrea Kelly almost $200,000.00 in back child support or he will be arrested again. Both Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary were at the courthouse with some of Kelly's staff. I'll keep you guys up to date on any new developments.
