LaShawn Daniels

So I guess by now most of y'all have heard....Grammy award winning producer and songwriter LaShawn "Big Shiz" Daniels was killed on last Tuesday in a car accident in York County, South Carolina. Daniels song credits include, The Boy Is Mine (Brandy&Monica), It's Not Right But Its Okay (Whitney Houston), If You Had My Love (Jennifer Lopez), He Wasn't Man Enough (Toni Braxton), You Rock My World (Michael Jackson), One Wish (Ray J), Telephone (Lady Gaga & Beyonce), Love & War (Tamar Braxton) and he won a Grammy for Say My Name (Destiny's Child) and that's just to name a few...the list goes on! If y'all are a fan of the show Tamar & Vince you might also remember LaShawn as being the close friend of Vince. He appeared several times on the show with his wife April.

The wreck happened at 4:25 p.m. on S.C. hwy 5 east of Rock Hill. A truck driven by 32yr old Jackie Dean Moss of Kings Mountain and a van driven by Daniels, were both involved in the crash and caught fire! The Coroner for York says both Moss and Daniels died at the scene. A pickup truck driving west on south Carolina Highway 5 "traveled left of center" and hit the two vehicles driving in the opposite direction. Sources say that the driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries.

LaShawn leaves to carry on his legacy, his wife of 19 years April and three sons, Tahshon(23) (his son from a previous relationship), Omar(23) (April's son from a previous relationship) and Jett(14). Funeral services will be by invite only and no media will be allowed to attend. The family asks for privacy during this time.

Y'all this one hurt! I feel like I personally knew this man and I am so heartbroken for his entire family and everyone who's lives he touched. Continue to keep April and the kids uplifted in prayer and also pray for the family of the other man who lost his life that day. Tomorrow is not promised so cherish the ones you love while you still can. As always, I will update y'all if there are any updates.
