Oh No!!!!!!! John Singleton has suffered a stroke and is allegedly in a coma! Now for those of you that don't know who he is, John is a director, screen writer and producer. He is best known for his work on movies like Boyz N The Hood, Baby Boy, Higher Learning, Shaft, Poetic Justice, Hustle & Flow, Four Brothers and Black Snake Moan.....and the list goes on and on! Last week, John had just flown in from a trip to Costa Rica when he started experiencing leg weakness. Sources say he then checked himself into an undisclosed hospital for treatment. Initially reports said that the stroke was mild and that it occurred while John was in the hospital, so he was moved to the ICU. We now know that John was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. It is being reported as of yesterday, that allegedly John actually suffered a major stroke and is in a coma. His family is in the process of establishing a conservatorship for him because he allegedly didn't have any medical directives . Allegedly John's mom, Sheila Ward, is asking a judge to appoint her as temporary conservator because he is unable to provide for his personal needs for physical health, clothing, food or shelter. She stated that John was involved in several business projects and was about to sign a major contract and she wants permission to handle those things for him.

Now for the messy part! Allegedly John's stroke has triggered a family feud between his mom Sheila and his 21 year old daughter Cleopatra Singleton! Cleopatra stated in legal docs that John is not in a coma and is getting better everyday. She says her father is breathing on his own but he is in a medically sedated state, that John responds to stimuli and has smiled many times. She also says she has been told by doctors that John could be out of the ICU in five days!!!!! Cleopatra alleges that Sheila is up to no good and has been abusing her position as John's personal and business manager... especially when it comes to supporting his children. In the docs Cleopatra says that Sheila has said that her intention is to liquidate all of Johns assets and leave his kids with nothing! Part of her statement reads "My father has allowed his mother to stay in that position out of fear and obligation to her as she has bullied and abandoned my father since he was a small child, leaving him emotionally defenseless."

The whole story sounds fishy to me but unless John comes out of the alleged coma we may never know who is being truthful! I will however say that where there is smoke, there is usually fire and somebody is most likely trying to come up off of John's misfortune.
